Back to the fray

It's been sometime since I revisited my own blog. Recently I'd been going to other people's blogs that somehow 'forced' me to write again. BUT I'M LAZY!!!

Oh well...

I've been teaching Programming Methodology / Fundamentals of Programming to degree students and diploma students respectively for quite a few semesters. The later the semester, the more difficult it seems for these students to grasp the idea of programming. I am teaching the same thing sem in sem out. The same thing. But the grades the students obtain are getting worse. This trend is making me scared out of my wits end!

When you take IT, you're supposed to at least understand the concepts in programming. If even the basic thing is difficult, how are you going to understand the more intricate concepts of IT?

This leads me to doubting my own capability of teaching. Is it me? Or is it the students' mindset? Which one is exactly the problem? Am I boring? Are they lazy? Which? Which?

I can't seem to find the answer at this moment. I shall have to wait for the next batch if they are also in the same boat as their predecessor.

Sir Poji,
U have been a great lecturer. The problem is not with u..its with the students.

I must say, there was very little useful information in this post, but I did learn a few things. Thanks.
There's a lot of stupidity in this world. Should we fight it or just let it take of itself?
There once was a time when I blogged about this stuff like crazy. Not many people came to my blogs.
It's actually a pretty funny story what happened after I drank mushroom tea. I started posting random comments.

Every silver lining has a cloud.

Sir Poji,
What I can say is,keep on continue fighting and no turning back.U r doing good deeds.I do understand that sometimes all these problems makes u feel down..but i do believe that one day, they will improve.sometimes,i do understand that repeating the same thing will make a person feels bored/angry.but that's the way it is.each person are different.

In my opinion sir, hands - on will make the students more interested on the topic.I am now working on SAP-ABAP.I have been working on SAP for 3-4 years. The first year...I dont know what the fish i am doing.i keep on doing the same mistake.but after repeating and being corrected again and again...i start to improve myself to be a better abaper.the conclusion is...its ok to keep on repeating the same thing over and over again eventhough how hard it is sir..coz i do believe when it comes to 2nd or 3rd u repeating it..they will remember for the rest for their lives.
