Goodness gracious, great balls of fire! After the morning faculty meeting, I thought there could be a peace of mind, but maaaan, was I wrong!
Suddenly about NINE new students interested in enrolling for my program came to sign up. Elated? You bet your a** I was! My program was in danger of being scrapped if there was not enough students, like the Deputy VC said recently that any program without enough students will be in danger. I wouldn't like that to happen!
But receiving 'failed' students has the danger, if they did not change their attitude. The way I saw their behavior in my office, spells danger. I'm not sure if they are really interested, or they just signed up just because. Oh, one of them even has a bright red hair, and it turned out it was also the color of his car. And his car made me jealous to the core. He's only a student and driving THAT Toyota? (No, it wasn't a Camry, but a 4WD which name, I don't know; hell it is a beautiful car.)
Then came KM the missing student. Oh he's such a good actor. I couldn't actually scold him for being missing. He said something about his family. Didn't he know or understand common courtesy that if you have problem with anything, just inform me. Am I just a rock, without any soul to help him when he's having trouble at all?
In the end he got to enjoy going to classes with just a simple but stern warning. The third time KM doesn't get the message and still strutting like the previous semester, I would not hesitate to give him DAS BOOT!
